Position Title: Trailer Mechanic
Location: St. Charles, MO
Position Summary
We are looking to for an experienced Trailer Mechanic to perform trailer repairs and build custom trailer frames and suspensions. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in the trailer repair industry with experience in complete trailer repair and rebuilding of suspension and axle assemblies.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Repair/replace damaged trailer posts/panels, doors, floors, top/bottom rails, and roofs.
• Repair/replace lights, wiring, airlines, wheel seals, air bags, axles, and all suspension components.
• Welding.
• Perform PMs and FHWA inspections.
Required Skills:
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a trailer repair/manufacturing field.
• Extensive knowledge in trailer suspensions and trailer repair structural and non-structural.
• Knowledge of all Federal Highway rules and guidelines.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Use of air and electric hand tools.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting and commercial environment.
• Must be a problem solver.
Preferred Skills:
• Class A CDL License.
• Able to drive and spot trailers on parking lot and in building.
• Welding Mig/Tig.
Physical Requirements:
• Physical ability to stand up to 8+ hours per day.
• Physically able to climb in and out of trailers, scaffolding, and ladders.
• Ability to lift & carry up to 75-lbs.
• Some travel may be required for onsite assistance/repair.
